Your career with Central Scotland Police begins with a two-year probationary period. You’ll receive initial training at the Scottish Police College, then local training in-Force and practical experience whilst working in the operational policing environment.

| Week 18 | 3 | Post ITC Training Course | 2-week training course at Force Headquarters encompassing training on local procedures and I.T. training. |
| Week 20 | 4 | Tutor Attachment | 10-week placement with a trained Tutor Constable at your allocated station. |
| 9 months service | 5 | Developmental Training | 4-day training course at Force Headquarters. Additional developmental training. |
| 16 months service | 6 | Pre – Reconvention | 4-day training course at Force Headquarters. Additional developmental training. |
| 18 months service | 7 | Reconvention | 2-week residential training course at the Scottish Police College, including practical assessments and examinations. |
| 22 months service | 8 | Confirmation Course | 4-day training course at Force Headquarters. Includes Final Examination, Fitness Assessment and 20 minute Presentation. |
After successfully completing the two-year probationary period, officers will be confirmed in the role of Constable.
