As a Central Scotland Police Officer, you’ll be a part of our communities. We enjoy strong, vibrant relationships with the people in the areas we police – and community policing is an area of high priority.
Our uniformed Constables have a unique job – one where no two days are ever the same. Your principal duties will be to prevent crime, protect life and property and detect offenders. You’ll attend a variety of different incidents, patrol communities and gather and record intelligence on criminal activity. But beyond these core responsibilities is vital relationship-building work. Just being visible in – and interacting with – our communities you’ll build trust and respect among the people we serve. Being a Constable means grabbing the opportunity to make a real difference to the quality of life of the people who live, work and travel in the area.
Naturally, that means acting professionally at all times – often in challenging situations and under difficult circumstances. Every day you’ll be dealing with criminals and, of course, their victims. Our Constables depend on first-rate social skills, demonstrating care and empathy at one incident and determination and assertiveness at the next.
If you can offer us the essential qualities: professionalism, determination, integrity, and people skills, we’ll offer you all the support you need, and a career that’s full of challenges, rewards and space to develop.
